Description

In the city of Marrakesh in Morocco, a 10,000sq m garden containing over 300 different species of plants was created by the painter Jacques Majorelle. In the middle of this splendid garden he built his studio. The originality of this garden and this villa is the color used for the walls and the paths. This color is the famous Majorelle blue, a kind of purplish ultramarine blue.

On vacation in Marrakech, this garden was a necessary stop for me. It was the emotion of this visit in the Guéliz district of Marrakech that inspired me to paint this canvas.
